POSITION PURPOSE The Vice President of Sales oversees daily sales activity, meets with major clients, draws up sales reports, designs new and more effective sales strategies, and works to market and promote company products and services. To assist in the corporate strategic planning and action these tactics to attain the revenue and profit objectives. To develop targets by region, territory, by customer, by item and to communicate these targets (forecasts to the various internal departments.) In accordance with the marketing objectives and profit goals, direct and coordinate the activities of the regional sales managers, sales administration, artwork coordination, and customer service to satisfactorily work within the framework of the corporation to accomplish said objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES STRATEGIC PLANNING: o Overall strategy for the Healthcare sales portfolio o Synthesize all marketplace, competitive, consumer, financial, and product information as platform for overall business strategy o Create top and bottom-line annual plan GENERAL MANAGEMENT: o Develop and achieve annual operating plan (top-line and bottom line) o Lead overall organization cross-functionally to deliver short and long term plans o Own all aspects of the profit and loss o Responsible for driving sales achievement and surpassing sales, and business goals and objectives. o Develop, monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPI) metrics aligned with business objectives to enhance success rate and assure alignment of activities. o Effectively communicates with management to provide accurate revenue forecasts and market intelligence that may impact revenue (+/-) SALES LEADERSHIP AND EXECUTION: o Work closely with the Marketing, BD&L and Clinical teams to ensure execution of strategic plans o Develop complete Customer programs and lead the \"pitch\" and close important Customers o Relentlessly drive the top line business with new distribution and current Customers o Lead the evaluation of new product and other market opportunities. Work closely with Vice President of Marketing and our Product teams to determine market and customer needs, probably long-term market acceptance and ROI of new product PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT: o Measure the effectiveness of the Sales teams and implement improvements as required o Conduct critical Talent Development activities to develop sales team and individuals including identification of top talent and proper management of poor performance. o Motivate and lead a high-performance management team; attract, develop and recruit and retain required members of the sales organization. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS: 1. Achievement of the operating plan 2. Deliver best in class products (tested superior to competition) 3. Increase market share for products Requirements QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Comprehensive knowledge and experience of healthcare systems and distribution channels, and the sale of multiple product categories into the healthcare system. Demonstrated ability to close large Health System contracts. Strong negotiation, presentation & collaboration skills in addition to those skills required to manage a cross functional team. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 15 years of senior sales management in the Healthcare industry. Minimum of 10 years of experience working with IDN's, distribution and key accounts.
