The position will require cross-functional interaction, communication, and partnership with cross functional team members, especially Packaging, Microbiology, Analytical, Quality Control, Regulatory, Operations, and Contract Manufacturing teams to ensure critical milestones are completed and deliverables met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
RESEARCH INITIATIVE & DEVELOPMENT: a. Formulation knowledge and good understanding of chemical interactions b. Ability to generate and follow manufacturing instructions for lab-scale formulations c. Capability to translate research and development data into technical reports
FORMULATION AND REGULATORY SUPPORT: a. Batching of lab-scale formulations b. Setting up and monitoring stability studies for lab-scale and production trial samples of formulations and finished product c. Strong observational skills and timely communication of progress and results d. Ability to generate technical reports and maintain an accurate laboratory notebook e. Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements throughout the product development process
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Test and evaluate products and prototypes, comparing to benchmarks or competitor products, makes product samples for key customer requirements, laboratory evaluation, efficacy and consumer testing Analyzes data and prepares technical reports and summaries Plans and supports product scale up, line trials, and generates trial reports and recommendations Writes product and raw materials specifications and technical supporting documents Analyses competitor products and evaluates raw materials used Plans own workload to ensure tasks, objectives, and key deliverables completed on time and in full Supports the development and launch of multiple new products, with minimal supervision Able to lead cross-functional teams, while representing R&D
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS 1. Demonstrate the capability to formulation and maintain accurate record keeping of activities and actions 2. Ability to perform multiple project objectives in a timely manner 3. Ability to adapt quickly to changing project focus and priorities 4. Capacity to develop formulation, documentation, and communication skills with a desire to take on more responsibilities 5. Aptitude to effectively communicate and cooperate with other team members and cross-functional teams 6. Capability to manage multiple projects as R&D lead on cross-functional Core team
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: University Degree in Science or Engineering required Masters an advantage
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Previous experience in a R&D lab is required
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3 - 5 years of work experience in a R&D laboratory Previous experience with wipes is advantageous Experience with FDA drug products is a plus
